What is Pipe Restoration?
Pipe restoration services solve issues of corroded, rotted, cracked and broken sewer pipes with less damage than traditional pipe replacement. The pipe restoration process always begins by cleaning the pipe to prepare it for one of two pipe restoration methods:
- Epoxy coating with the Picote Brush Coating™ System, or
- Cured in Place Pipelining (CIPP) with the Perma-Liner™ Pipe Lining System.
The method of pipe restoration depends on the project situation, the cause of pipe damage, and the type of pipe to be restored. Each method produces the same result of a long-lasting, durable, coated pipe.
Steps of TSR’s Proven Pipe Restoration Process:
- Video camera inspection before, during, and after pipe restoration, using state of the art Ridgid® SeeSnake® Cameras
- Inspection of pipe walls for damage
- High-speed milling or descaling of interior pipe (commonly used for cast iron pipe restoration), OR
- Water jetting / hydro jetting of interior pipe (commonly used for pipes other than cast iron)
- Epoxy brushcoating with the Picote Brush Coating™ System, OR
- Cured in Place Pipelining (CIPP) with the Perma-Liner™ pipe lining system
What is Pipe Descaling?
Pipe descaling of sewer drainage pipes, also known as drain descaling, refers to pipe cleaning that removes corrosion, rust, and mineral accumulation from the pipe’s interior surface. Pipe restoration technologies such as descaling help restore the optimal flow of water in residential or commercial building plumbing systems.
Following pipe descaling, old or deteriorated drains and sewer pipes ranging from 1-¼” to 12″ in diameter can be restored with the Picote Brush Coating™ System. This epoxy coating serves as a damp-proof, corrosion resistant, wear-resistant and non-corrosive lining. Within the same pipe, several coats can be applied. Entire pipe systems can be renovated with minimal disruption, and costly traditional excavation can be avoided.

Symptoms of Corroded Pipes

Water Flow or Backup Issues
- A water flow issue often stems from sewer pipes being clogged or corroded. For slow water flow in bath water drains or water backups in sinks and plumbing fixtures, corroded pipes are typically the culprit.
Low Water Pressure
- Low water pressure in drainage pipes can indicate pipe corrosion. Our trained and certified experts can determine the corroded drain source with camera inspection of corroded pipes, broken drains, failing sewer lines and more.
